Crystal Rounds
A particular invention of the modern battlefield is the "Crystal Round" ammunition, which is a rather literal title. Instead of the traditional lead ball, a sphere of the appropriate size is instead carved out of aspected crystal and smoothed.
If the maker desires it, the round can be imparted with a greater amount of Aether or designed spell effect at this junction, but if not the Crystal Round can still operate as intended.
When fired out of a musket, an 'uncharged' Crystal Ball will still disrupt Aetheric currents as they pass through them, as well as do the same to woven spells. Spells such as shields and barriers.
Even just a few direct hits from Crystal Rounds can fully dirupt a Mages barrier, causing it to shatter or collapse. Keep in mind that a new barrier can likely be summoned with little effort, but if timed correctly such a method can prove quite useful.
