The Fort of Planks
Lake Plava leaves the nations of the Brumel wide open to the Beast Tribes that regularly descend from the north to raid and pillage.
The Fort of Planks was built to stop that.
Part deep sunk constructed fortress, part pontoon city, the fort is a hub of activity in an otherwise serene lake. They regularly send patrols out on boats to make sure there isn't anyone or anything attempting to sneak past the fort far enough away to be considered out of sight.
To be assigned to the fort is generally considered a form of punishment, considering its lack of connection to the rest of the world and its tenuous supply lines. Even so, the garrison is regualrly shuffled out, so it's by no means a 'final stop' for failing military officials and soldiers. More a warning, if anything.
