Tiamat's Dracanographs
A series of writings by Tiamat , carved by her own hand. Or claw, I suppose.
They are prized for their insight into Tiamat's mind as well as the sciences that they include almost casually that have often proven to be the key to mathematical and scientific advancements. Of course, this has sparked a rather intriguing question.
Why did mother Tiamat leave the Dracanographs around?
It's not completely impossible (though regarded as unlikely, given the sheer amount of information that even a dragon hatchling is able to hold) that she simply needed to keep reminders around, but then why are their locations so scattered? The first was found deep within the Dalterel Mountains and the latest rather unexpectedly dredged up from the Perfumed Sea.
It would seem to imply that she was either attempting to hide them from us, if so then why not destroy them outright or make a more concerted (and perhaps magical?) effort to hide them, or the seemingly more likely alternative of Tiamat intending us to find them, but only as society grew to fit the world again, like it did at the time of the Old Empire.
