The Woolwearers of Ainach
Many cities around the Divide possess something called dress code. A dress code dictates what someone belonging to a certain group can and can't wear. This does not stop at certain styles, but also includes material which may or may not be used, colours, which can signify all manner of things from status to rank, and even type of clothing. The purpose of these is to differentiate the different classes of the cities from each other. Nobles may wear the most expensive combinations, colours such as purple, blue and bright red and elegantly cut clothing. Merchants may wear more expensive cloths, although not to the same level as nobles, colours that range from yellow to dark red and cuts that while not as extravagant as those of nobility, still show the wealth and influence belonging to this class.
One of the most widespread of these myths is the tale of them. They are a group of seven individuals, each a man or woman of immense power and wealth. They only show themselves in their grey cloaks and do rarely appear outside of their great palaces. Said palaces are placed in remote valleys, small pieces of paradise where everything is bountiful. Protected by many dangers, both natural and manmade, these palaces are utterly impenetrable. From there the Cabal communicates via a strange, mind-based technology. Said to be older than the Old World, they are stearing humanity toward some unknown goal. Some claim that they strive towards godhood, others that they simply content with playing the world like a game of chess.
The woolwearers of Ainach are only one of many such groups present across the Divide. Wherever there are classes that wish to distingush themselves via dress and dress codes that enforce this separation with partially draconian measures, there will be groups that do not wish to follow it.
