Coalition Wilderness Scout
Coalition Wilderness Scouts are the eyes and ears of the coalition in the vast wilderness over which it claims dominion.
Career
Qualifications
Coalition Wilderness Scouts are picked from the outlying villages protected by the Coalition's military power. They know their own local geography well and have a vested interest in patrolling and identifying threats before they have a chance to cause harm. They are usually people who have demonstrated a minimum degree of proficiency in hunting and fieldcraft.
Payment & Reimbursement
Pay is in keeping with their military rank.
Other Benefits
The scouts and their immediate families enjoy full military benefits for healthcare and services.
Perception
Purpose
Coalition Wilderness Scouts are not meant to be seen. They identify threats, incoming and outgoing convoys, and communicate this to the nearest coalition outpost. Occasionally they will take the initiative to dispose of minor threats and deal with small problems on their own.
Social Status
They are viewed as country bumpkins by the rest of the coalition military, but anyone who knows them respects their skills. Some Wilderness Scouts serve as high level advisors to senior coalition leadership in theatre, who understand the value of the information they can provide.
Operations
Tools
A good set of body armor, optical enhancements, and an accurate long-range weapon are the minimum kit for a Coalition Wilderness Scout. They are also provided with radios and L.O.S. Laser Communications for more secure transmissions.
Workplace
Wilderness scouts typically travel in trios and rarely in pairs, although it is not unheard of for lone scouts to wander about as well.
