Monx
Peacekeeper Monx
Monx is a bluish purple humanoid, standing two meters tall, with dark purple tendril-like hair that he wears like dreadlocks. With a significant brow ridge and wide flat chin he gives off a neanderthal-like impression; but his solid maroon eyes hint at a keen intelligence. He is a Quorian. He is also the peacekeeper of Rifthaven.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Will strive to keep himself a bit overweight at all times to provide fuel for his accelerated healing. Most of the fuel for his healing comes from his hair, but it also taxes his body such that a good layer of body fat provides a good buffer.
Body Features
Besides the obvious visual characteristics of his Quorian race, he also has a unique way of storing fat. His hair is comprised of hollow membranes that plump up as he accumulates fat. Almost all his body fat accumulates in his hair and not until it is engorged does the allocation of fat tend towards his body.
Physical quirks
Ties his hair tendrils differently every time. Thinks it is bad luck to wear his hear the same way two days in a row. This also hides the status of his self-healing progress from others.
Special abilities
Healing factor: When a quorian suffers a wound, his healing factor kicks into gear. As a Quorian, Monx makes a vigor roll at the end of his turn. On a success, a wound is removed. This does not affect shaken status, nor does it affect poison or disease status; but it will still remove wounds caused by poison or disease. Regardless of success, his Vigor stat is reduced a die.
Every successful wound removal absorbs his stores of body fat. He can usually remove three (3) wounds without any penalty at his default composition. When his vigor die reaches a d4, any further healing attempt causes a level of fatigue and suffers a -2 to the roll, which stacks for each subsequent attempt. Healing factor is a passive ability, always active, and can not be turned off. Healing factor can not replace lost limbs or other organs. Vigor die lost due to healing factor are regained at the same rate as wounds would be removed. A healing attempt will not regain a vigor die, only natural healing through time and rest and lots of food will accomplish this.

Specialized Equipment
Wears a nice suit of mega-damage body armor and keeps a neural mace and an NG-33 laser pistol on his hips at all times. If he expects trouble of the law enforcement nature he will also carry a shotgun. If he expects trouble of the defend the village or die variety, he will carry an NG-IP7 Ion Pulse Rifle instead of the shotgun.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
His grandparents were summoned to the Palladium world by the dwarves during the dwarf-elf war. He left his wandercamp, as all Quorians must, and ended up joining the militia of a good-sized city on the frontier of the Baalgor Wastelands. His sense of honor and military aptitude led to him being well respected in the militia and he was destined for greater things.
Then the orcs attacked with their ogre shock troops and goblin skirmishers. Monx was given the task of protecting the civilians in the strong-house. The city was overrun and only Monx and a handful of civilians remained alive when a portal to another world opened up. In a desperate gamble, he led them all through the portal and ended up on Rifts Earth not far from where Rifthaven is today. Before the rift closed, a number of goblins also ran through the portal, only to surrender to him as soon as it closed.
As they wandered their new home, they came across some other refugees of other crises who had similar tales to tell. Together they founded the town of Rifthaven with the goal of providing safe refuge to others like them who came through rifts to this new world.
Sexuality
As the only representative of his species, he is not very active. Will accept females of other species into his bed, but does not seek them. Sexually compatible with most humanoid species.
His relationship with Quinn, the doctor of Rifthaven, is noteworthy. She was first interested in studying his healing factor and would rush to him whenever he injured himself, no matter how slightly. Through many interesting shared troubles and life-threatening experiences, the two have become very close. While he is obviously attracted to her (everyone can see and sense it but him) he thinks himself far to old for her, a sentiment she does not share; and respects her too much to treat her like a sexual conquest.
Education
Practical military training in archaic weapons and fighting styles. General policing and patrolling as part of a militia and guard. Literate in Dwarfish and Elvish. Illiterate in American.

Currently employed as the Peacekeeper of Rifthaven.
