Set

Set is the god of of deserts, storms, disorder and violence. It was only natural that he would kill his brother Osiris whose domain was fertility, agriculture, life, and vegetation. Osiris was the most exalted of the Gods of the Church of Light and Dark and their subjects loved him and revered him. Set knew his subjects better than that, or thought he did. He fully believed that in their heart of hearts, when people really prayed for what they needed, they prayed for upheaval, violence and to to destroy their enemies. They prayed to Set. Armed with this confidence, he killed his brother Osiris, scattered is dismembered pieces across the galaxies, and stood ready to claim dominion over all.
Set became furious when his nephew Ra rose to inherit the mantle of head of the pantheon of gods and not him. This kicked off the greatest schism in the pantheon of the Church of Light and Dark that has lasted several thousand years to this day.
(aside: His sister-in-law Isis, Osiris's wife, collected the pieces of Osiris that Set had scattered across the three galaxies. She managed to resurrect Osiris, or so the story goes. What he actually is now is completely unknown to all but Isis. Osiris has become the God of Death, the Afterlife and Resurrection since. This new portfolio was accepted by both the pantheons of "Light" and "Dark," and Osiris has chosen to remain neutral, slowly building his own following from the worlds neglected in the war between the two. But that is a story for future generations of storytellers)

Divine Domains

With the domain of storms he was able to corrupt his nephew Horus's power base in the domain of sky. He did not expect that his other nephew Ra would counter it and become even more powerful.
Despite this, the domain of disorder and violence is an everfilling well of power and Set has great traction across worlds that produce the strongest armies. Because of this, the armies of the pantheon of Dark may not number as many as the pantheon of light, but they are stronger in battle.

Hobbies & Pets

Set will never go anywhere without his Sha. In fact, that animal is so consistently associated with him that it is often referred to as a Set Animal or Set Beast.

Set's weapon of choice, and his symbol is the Was Sceptre:


It is wielded like a double-ended spear. One end is a sharp pointed fork, while the other end is a cross between a glaive and an axe, with a curved axe-like blade at an angle allowing slashing as well as piercing motions. This axe-head is decorated to look like the head of a jackal-like animal known as a Set Beast, or Sha.
