Simvan

Also known as the Monster Riders, the Simvan live their lives on beasts of all kinds. They are nomadic by nature.

Basic Information

Dietary Needs and Habits

Simvan are carnivorous and even cannibalistic. They place great honor and display a certain reverence to their meals. They believe they gain understanding of and strength from the prey they kill and eat. So they have no hesitation to kill and eat other sapient species and even each other. This does not mean they view all sapients as prey, they do have a culture of their own, and can form friends and relationships with other peoples. It does mean that when they have cause to kill another, they will eat what they kill.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

The apex of the Simvan belief system revolves around their reverence for the Ekatonyx, an enormous beast upon which entire tribes travel. Many Female, young and elderly Simvan travel as a community upon the backs of these hundred-legged armored beasts while the abled bodied male and female hunters ride in van on their hunting and combat oriented beasts. They've adopted many of their customs by imitating the Ekatonyx. Even their cannibalism is inspired by watching young Ekatonyx consume their own mother in order to transform into full adults themselves.   But not every Simvan tribe is centered around one of these beasts. There are more tribes than Ekatonyx, and those without will attempt to find a number of large beasts to fill that need if possible.
This article is a continuing work in progress. As the Simvan are very adequately described in the source material from both Palladium and Pinnacle publishers, this article intend to concentrate solely on what is different or peculiar to Tulcor's Savage Rifts.
