Tharo

The god-king of the Lyn-Srial.

Appointment

Typically a hereditary post, but the line of succession does not necessarily go to the eldest son. Any children of the current Tharo are eligible. Usually the Tharo declares his or her heir prior to passing. However, in the event of no heir being declared only the one voted on by the three pillars of Lyn-Srial society, the Oonoot, Emirs and Herey-tet, becomes the next Tharo. Each group gets a single vote and the three votes must be unanimous for the selection to be considered valid. This is usually accompanied with an elaborate ornithomancy during which the spirit of the deceased Tharo declares a preference.   Once the current Tharo has begotten a single heir, the Tharo's siblings may be sacrificed and mummified for service to Pantheon of Light. This is not always done immediatey, but is performed eventually. Usually this just gives the Tharo an excuse to eliminate the most troublesome siblings while keeping the most valuable in service as long as possible.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The only way to remove the Tharo from power is for one of their Gods to intervene.
