Produced by a special needle, this tattoo depicts shadowy tendrils creeping out from a central emblem tracking its remaining charges.
Tattoo Attunement. To attune to this item, you hold the needle to your skin where you want the tattoo to appear, pressing the needle there throughout the attunement process. When the attunement is complete, the needle turns into the ink that becomes the tattoo, which appears on the skin.
If your attunement to the tattoo ends, the tattoo vanishes, and the needle reappears in your space. Umbral Occlusion. This tattoo has charges equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus, and regains all expended charges daily at dawn. While the tattoo is on your skin you gain the following benefits:
Penumbral Recovery. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you can expend a charge to make the attack magical, and you regain a number of hit points equal to the damage dealt.
Antumbral Eclipse. When you are attacked by a creature within 30 feet of you that you see, you can expend a charge and use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. An attacker that cannot be blinded is immune to this feature.
Tenebrous Pact. As an action you can grant yourself one additional point of corruption and cast Simulacrum on yourself, creating an illusory copy of yourself from your own shadow. This copy has all of your statistics, abilities, and equipment except any of your magical items.
