Sphinx

Sphinx are one of the more feared races on Aanrah, known for their imposing stature and wicked sharp whits. While not common, they are treated with respect and as potential threats whrever they go - even in the modern era. Some scholars believe them to have originated as a hybrid species of dragons.

Sphinx stand between 7' and 9' feet at the shoulder, with males being significantly larger then females. They appear as creatures with the body of a lion, feathered wings, and a humanoid face. Their fur is usually a shade of gold or brown, but can be found in any pattern or color a cat or large cat can have. Their wings are usually white, grey, brown or black, and do not have to match the color of the fur. Both male and females have manes, with males usually having thicker ones, which are usually a different color then the rest of their fur. Similarly, it can come in any color a cat's fur can come in.
