The Fyre Festival

The Fyre Festival is a four-day gathering held every year in the town of Burnside that honors fire - the lifeblood of the town and its main protection against the Dreadwood Forest - through food, games, musical acts, and a celebration of all things flammable. The event traditionally ends in the "Grand Finale," an incredible pyrotechnik display whose final arcing firebolt into the nearby forests marks the formal restart to Burnside's annual campaign to keep the Dreadwood at bay.
Over the decades, the event has grown in notoriety, drawing visitors from all along the Northern Road communities eager to eat, drink, and be merry (as well as cutting a few deals on the side). Although the festival was originally held in Burnside's central square, for the past several years, the Fyre Festival has been held at a dedicated fairgrounds area just outside town that offers plenty of space for the incendiary revels. Perhaps most importantly, a small creek runs past the new festival site, offering quick access to water in the not-so-uncommon event that a particularly fiery act gets a little out of hand...
