Session 2

General Summary

The party finishes up their business in the Merchant's Cave after nearly losing Valthurg to the powerful bite of the river drake. Askaladd does some healing magic to keep the party on their feet while they make their way back to Tartaran. Vlathurg has put the river drakes head on his own as a tribute to the beast that nearly ended his life. Vendar and the small Ginger slowly walk Valthurg back to town as he is still incredibly injured.   Upon arriving at town it has reached the middle of the night and the party makes plans to meet at the Crusty Croissant for breakfast and proper introductions before they go to collect their reward from the mayor. After Ginger learns everyone's name and contemplates charming them for their share of the gold he decides against this course of action. They all share some poor soul named Chris's birthday cake and sing a proper happy birthday in his absence. They then make their way to the Mayors mansion with the river drakes head as proof that they finished the job.   Mayor Barddock is impressed with their skills for he did not think they made it through the night. He gives them their reward of 100 gold and makes another request. There is an item, a stone to be precise, that has the ability to heal wounds at an exponential rate. He asks the party to venture into the forest and find the location of this item. He points them in the general direction it could be located and tells them he knows nothing else other than what it looks like. After their meeting with the mayor the party makes a shopping trip into town for some health potions and a few other items. Ginger and Valthurg could not haggle with Korg to lower the price of his weapon runes.   The party regroups and makes their way to the river where they follow it upstream for the next 3 days. Thankfully, without running into any of the roaming beats or monsters. Once they reach the base of Mt. Stackaklose they adjust their trajectory going south in the direction the mayor said the stone would be. After a few hours of traveling in this direction the party comes across a Nomadic Goblin Encampment.   The party's first move is to send Vendar the party's sneakiest member to take out the goblin in the nearest lookout tower. Sneaking his way closer Vendar sneaks up on a Goblin that is mid-deuce only for it to receive a painless death at the mercy of Vendar's quick and deadly strike. Maintaining his stealth vendar sneaks further forward making it to the base of the watch tower before letting a grappling arrow loose only for it to miss his target and impale through the top of the watchtower, alerting the guard inside. The goblin lookout begins to scream once he realizes an arrow has pierced the watchtowers roof. During the commotion Ginger ignites the Goblin Commando's tent using produce flame and then waits for the flames to grow.   Valthurg joins the battle to assist Vendar with his goblin problem for Vendar had some trouble going up the stairs and tripped mid climb. Because Vendar was collapsed on the stairs Valthurg missed an attack only to have an arrow from Askaladd's crossbow fly through the window and take his kill. Askaladd makes it to the watchtower to meet Vendar and Valthurg when a Goblin Pyro Ignites the tower via Burning Hands spell. Several seconds of running from flames and bashing Goblins around go by when The commando comes out and runs away realizing what is happening and that his comrades are losing.
