Karnis

The Karnis are an eusocial species. This means they operate much like insects. The good of the clan (Large social group) is more important than the replaceable individuals.

Their appearance is that of a humanoid reptile. There are two distinct forms of the species. These forms are determined during incubation of the eggs.

One is a large, heavily muscled and scaled form that is referred to as a Drone. These are a manual labor and warrior caste.

The second is a smaller and more delicate. These are the lords and they are the psychic ruling caste. They are innately telepathic and control their clan's drones.

Clans often have a single Lord that rules the clan, with several other lords that are subservient to them. There are also subsidiary clans whose Lord owes fealty to a greater clan that they funnel resources to.

• It is common for new Lords to break away from their clans with a number of Drones to form new or subsidiary clans.
