Blushing Mermaid
Notoriously the best tavern and inn in Baldur's Gate to get you teeth kicked in --or kick in somebody elses--. The name originating for a life sized wooden mermaid with dozens of black shriveled hands nailed to its body. A multi storied and somewhat maze like building, it is rowdy, crowded, and a hotbed for criminal activity.
Purpose / Function
A generally rowdy tavern, the Blushing Mermaid is well known as the place where Guild members operate. A handful of silver in the right hands can get you services and meetings with the cities dirtiest, or could land you outback with more than a few bruises; or worse.
Architecture
Built with a large mast at the front of the building with a mermaid statue attached to the front of it, the mast extends upwards through all the floors. In front of the mast and statue is a front desk where the tavern owner Darwin welcomes guests, and collects debts. The rest of the main floor is a large drinking hall where a brawl is always one spilled drink away. Upwards the tavern becomes a confusing maze of rooms, halls, and windows. Many of which could land you in a back room run by the guild.
