The Low Lantern

An old, three-masted ship that rocks gently in the water along Stormshore Street Dock on the Gray Harbors eastern side. A notorious feasthall and tavern, the ship is no longer seaworthy and is in desperate need of repair. On warm days and evenings, respectable clients can sit at tables on the upper deck beneath hanging lanterns, smoking and drinking between wagers, while a more raucous crowd congregates around bars and gambling tables on the decks below.

Purpose / Function

An Inn and Tavern, the low lantern attracts all kinds. And as is custom in Baldurs Gate, they don't get involved in patron scuffles, only requesting payment for damages. While most clients go for a drink, a smoke, and a few drunken wagers; some visit the tavern for the services of a money lending business which runs out of the tavern.

Architecture

A large three-masted ship settled on the easter side of Gray Harbour. The main level houses nothing more than the crows nest, aftcastle and forecastle. While a set of steps leads one down into the tavern deck, the first of three floors below the main deck. Along with the tavern there are a few shaggy rooms lining the walls of the bottom deck with one master suite at the rear of the ship.

History

Once an old working ship, after being decommissioned it was salvaged and turned into a tavern/inn. 23rd of Tarsakh:
The party came to the Low Lantern and met a variety of peoples. Aerith and Beldan, some drow in search of adventure chatted with the party for some time before being scared of by a drunken Johan. Grimboot a Durgar and Hitsohi an oriental male whom shared some conversation with the party, it turned out Hitoshi worked on a merchant ship owned by the Irlentree's. After some more drinks they confronted Amrik on the lower deck, a conversation that quickly turned into a fight, and ended in Amrik's death. They were quickly thrown out by The Captain who warned them they had earned the wrath of Thalmara Vanthampur. They met a young woman named Reya just outside who claimed she was a Hellrider from Elturel.
