The Vanthampur Family

Known by most ass the sewer lords, the whole of the family consists of Duke Thalmara Vanthampur who rose through the ranks of Baldur's Gate to her current position and her three sons; each a gift from one of her three late husbands respectively.   The family is rather reclusive, making their home on the furthest edge of the upper city manor neighborhood.   It has been discovered by the party that the family has been secretly funding the Dead Three Cultists in an attempt to undermine the Flaming Fist. They have also been actively working against Ulder Ravnegard to raise their social standing at all costs. But there seems to be something else afoot, this with the timing of Elturel's disappearance can't be a coincidence, cant it?   It was discovered in 1494 DR by a group of adventurers that the Vanthampurs were devil worshipers who were working with Thavius Kreeg to seize power in the city and promise it to their lord Zariel.   Their villa was raided and evidence was discovered daming them. Amrick was killed in a tavern, Thalmara was slain in battle, Mortlock fleed the city, and Thurstwell was arrested.   Their family wealth was taken by the adventurers and their name was no more.

Structure

Thalmara: Deceased   Thurstwell: A sickly but decently intelligent boy, he helps his mother run their finances and operations from her villa. As well as spies around the city using numerous Imps.   Amrik: Deceased   Mortlock: Once in charge of the Nymphs Rest Bathhouse, Mortlock has been ostracized from the family and fled the city.

Public Agenda

To strengthen their political, financial, and social standing. The head of the family Thalmara dreams of distancing herself and her family as far from poverty as possible.

History

The Vanthampur family, unlike many of the patriar families of Baldur's Gate has not been around very long. It was through the grit and hard work of their matriarch Thalmara that they rose out of the slums into high society as they are today.
