Carthus Palladia Church
Named after the Aitsonian New God of Faith, Carthus, and the epithet of the Olympian Goddess of Wisdom - Pallas Athena. The Carthus Palladia Monastery is an institution based upon religious education, teaching those that have sought asylum from the threats of Lydgartha, the region that surrounds the state of the Church. It is based around the polytheistic teachings of multiple gods that inhibit the idea of Order, Law, Peace, Wisdom, and Knowledge - which makes it one of the most prestigious institutions of learning within the Lydgarthan region, and Mainland Aitso as a whole. As a sovereign microstate, it is often subject to regards of mockery by the criminals and commoners of Lydgartha, as it holds no low-rank military, or excessive numbers to bolster its defences. This makes up one reason for its status as undefeated - as fools undervalue the power of the Microstate - and find it to be worthless to try and conquer, potentially angering the gods. Those with little care of the Gods can instead be met with some of the most skilled warriors of noble descent. Often, bandit leagues and Scrollrunners that try to fight against the faithbound warriors of this land are met with the hands of the lord-favoured. Death is what always awaits them, or ritual sacrifice.
Carthus Palladia Church, as an institution, can be found in Lydgartha, Scylla, Graceswift, Erialla, and plenty of other nations and groups. The microstate is their origin, but as an organised religion, they stretch far across the lands. Most of the clergy within the Church originate from the noble families of the Feudalist regions of Lydgartha and Scylla, with holy warriors, crusaders, paladins, and bannarets often being their retainers, servants, and vassals from when they were not considered members of the church. Bishops, Professors, and Higher Acolytes that are found in Carthus Palladia Church itself are often nobles that had abdicated from their noble status, abandoning their titles and roles of nobility. The Church demands their sole dedication and ambition. When it comes to education, the nobles of the lands are sent into the monastery and cathedral regions of the Microstate, under boarding school. Each noble is regarded into a home class, often made of students that are found across the whole region - as to widen their cultural understandings and social lives. By the end of their first year, where every subject is mandatory, they are ordered to pick an educational lineage, known as a 'Prowess'. There are three prowesses to choose from; The Prowess of Faith, The Prowess of Strategy, and The Prowess of Unions.
