Karlov Family Home
"You see it too, right? Out the corner of your eye? Just when you're looking away from those awful paintings, you see the pictures blink, but for a mere moment. The creaking in the dead of night. It happens when everybody else is asleep, and we certainly don't hear it when we're awake, now do we?"The Karlov family is a rich institution from within the Lydgartha society. They are known for the making of Karlov Ale, a family recipe that has propelled them from rags to riches. Ultimately, they had expanded into a large home, with it's basement having been renovated from a rogue's passageway, a fact they did not know, into their primary brewery. This had only become an issue years later when that same rogue returned. With the home being decorated with many riches, due to the reckless spending of the more respected members of the family name, it has become a hotspot of subpar portraits. As the scoundrel had returned to his old home, he had began to make good use of the hidden pathways of the house, stalking the family under every turn and movement they made. Ultimately his plan is to reclaim the house as his own, whether by scaring off the Karlovs, or by slaying them all.
- Father Karlov, to his Brother.
The home itself has been under numerous owners, but it's most recent owner, except the Karlov family, had been a legendary scoundrel within the regions of Lydgartha, having been able to cause major havoc in every major city he's found himself in. His home was made as both a hideout for whenever the forces of those cities would begin attempting to find him. After the last owners of the home mysteriously died from a poisoning, burrows, walkways, and passages were commissioned by the rogue to be implemented between the walls of each room. It was after he was caught that the home would be abandoned for a few years, just in time for the Karlov family to move in, and declare it their own. If anything, according to the thief, he is just wishing for some petty revenge upon the beer-brewers for taking what he deems to be rightfully his, even if he stole it as well.
