"Don't you feel it? A repeating cough? More spit than usual. Salty texture at the back of your throat. Yes, I know - scary, isn't it? Do not worry, I've not poisoned you. Something much, much worse. At least it'll be quick,"
- Reif Naiad, Puppeteer
Similar to voodoo dolls, the Naiad effigy is characterised as being kelp puppets maid by the Naiad people - natives to northern Thevagon Isles and the reefs around the region. These kelp puppets are known for being infused with cursed magic, and was used by enchantresses, assasssins, and rampant villains. It involves the simple process of binding another's soul to an effigy that resembles them. Unlike a traditional voodoo doll, the curse recipient cannot be harmed through direct damage to the effigy. Instead, it involves an envelopment of the effigy in whole, for any meaningful action to occur. Commonly, this action is being submerged in seawater. It causes the individuals afflicted to drown on land.
