Paradime, God of the Division

Goddess of the Division Paradime

"There's a reason you do not see mortal men make their way to godhood. The reason is one, Paradime. The tomes of history will not have your name in it,"

- Paradime, to Unknown Adventurer
Paradime, also known as 'That Which Defends' and 'The Protector of the Divine' is a divine being found within the Old Aitsonian Pantheon. They are known as the God of the Division. The Division is a term coined by the divine being as what seperates those who are Gods from those who are not. She stands as it's sole protector, despite it holding no physical form. The god uses her power to establish a barrier at all points. Divinity is something derived only for those that are necessary. None shall get past her ever-constant gaze. During the Founding Lands Era, the time of great worship to Paradime had began to dwindle due to the arrival of the New Gods. Her value as a guardian became non-existent, and it was her physical avatar's death that had let the powerful individuals like Sol and Vantro become the New Aitsonian Gods.
Donning a purple robe, embedded with they crest of divinity in a bright yellow, Paradime's outfit resembles that of both the Lyonesians, a people that are indebted to her work from a long ago conflict, as well as her worsippers. They carry a tome, bound with every current divine being. She makes sure the book does not become filled, or cramped with the names of false gods and make-believe idols. To stop this, she simply either kills the uprising being or takes their worshippers for themselves, rendering them unable to ascend to proper Godhood. One reason for this is Avarice. She keeps the book open for the demigods and quasi-deities made by the current Gods. To have this list full will deny the right of divinity given at birth/creation to mighty being such as Solis. The Division does not take from those already past it. Part of the Division's defences is the Gaze of Paradime. Their gaze is said to be of pure radiance, capable of reducing whoever it set upon it to a lifetime of enthrallment and the effects of the spell feeblemind, permanently. This punishment is set only onto those that attempt to take her power, itself, to make people into gods at the whim of entertainment and boredom.
Paradime resembles a human. A being capable of worshipping many deities with open arms. A sense of neutrality. She possesses pale, unmarked skin as well as blonde hair. This form was picked by herself under the idea of appearing as a fair guardian. This is a falsehood. She is anything but fair. They make good use of their Greatspear, known as the Seperator. Paradime does not possess anything that'd be considered an imperfection, or anything that'd keep her tethered to the negatives of humanity. She poessess no nails, scars, or prints. Nails, are, to many, a sense of savagery. Cutting and biting them off stops them from turning into an eagle's talons, or an Owlbear's claws. Paradime saw this as a way to stop herself from being seen as animalistic, or even human, to keep check on herself constantly, when the Division itself was much more important. As a mostly feature-less individual, Paradime finds originality and an easy way to identify her through their greatspear. It is embedded with her holy sigil, and other than being shaped like a human, she still carries the physical aura of a divine being, and the ability to change her height and size. They have been known to take the form of a colossal being, the size of mountains, or even to the point of an average human. She has not shapeshifted, and finds it amusing to even consider it. Why, in her opinion, should a god hide their presence? They are gods for a reason, and should wear it with pride.

Divine Domains

Paradime is a goddess that primarily associates with domains under Arcana, Knowledge, Light, Order, and Peace. They used these domains for their most loyal clerics and warriors during her time of power. They were known for Order mostly, but their involvement stems from the Division itself, often characterised as a blinding wall of light in mythologies, filled with Arcane Knowledge.

Artifacts

The created artifacts belonging to Paradime include their tome, holding the pages of every god that has been conceived, worshipped, or given devotion. Whenever a god is killed, their name is struck from the page. Paradime used this book to analyse any new divine beings, in order to see if they are of the worth to not be killed by the God. Many believe that the destruction of this book could lead to more individuals being able to become a god.
Paradime also has a staff, known for it's powerful magic. It's specialized in Astronomancy due to the nature of the constellations reflecting major gods of all of the major pantheons. Beings like Sol and Paradime are written in the stars, and she uses it to destroy their enemies with spells such as Moonbeam. She also uses this staff to access The Division.

Tenets of Faith

The Prime Principle of Paradime is to destroy all false gods, hero-deities, and those unrecongised by Paradime's Tome. The destruction can be through destroying the physical body, the mind of the being, or the faith of their followers. Kuo-Toa gods are the main target for this, which has led to many followers of Paradime being found upon coastlines.

Paradime was one of the first Gods to be defeated, and possibly killed, by the New Gods before their rising to divinity. Whereas Sol and other warriors of the group that ascended would simply wish to challenge the gods at random, it was ones like Luna who would rather scheme before fights. In her declaration, she managed to find one being that seemed to harbour the highest likelihood of knowing of their schemes, and being one of the most likely to intervene. Paradime was first on her list, and she enlisted the work of other soon-to-be New Deities to attack Paradime in their rest.
After the battle, Luna had taken her staff and warped it into one of night's cold embrace. With Moonbeam, it matched her preferred Dogma.
