The Fair Hand

Lads! Today we fight! There will be none that come to our visage of this land. No diplomats! No Kings and Queens! No unjust rulers! Only the fair will come to our people's hands, together... we bring back what is ours!
- Miguel Vargas, during a siege on an Orc Tyrant of the nearby dunes.
The Fair Hand is a small organisation based within the Southern Dunes of the Sea of Sands. Their purpose had been simple, to work for what House Vargas had told them to, as well as, later on in their operations, the Adilla Nation . Compromised completely of those who were either loyal, or once loyal, to the Vargas family, they've disbanded since, and have mostly died out, after their betrayal at Estrella Manor .   Most notably, the Fair Hand was led by a Vargas family member, to begin with, being Miguel Vargas, the Ankheg Slayer. He was often cited as not only their leader, but tactician. His secondary follower was a slightly older elf called Lord Garland Malison. An expert of firearms, he would often be commanding the archers and ranged members to the Fair Hand. Alas, he was also a well-hidden king of persuasion and deceit, for it was him who had brought down House Vargas, and ultimately killed Miguel during that night.

Notable Battles

One of the most famous conflicts, in favour of the Fair Hand, was the Siege of Dune Ikarus. A high standing point in the Sea of Sands, it was home to a crude group of orcs, using Sand Worms to travel across great distances and pillage remote settlements. However, their biggest mistake was picking off one under House Vargas, cementing themselves as an enemy of the family. In response, the Fair Hand was escorted out, using their own methods of travelling, until they had come across the settlement. In a long, altruistic strike against the kingdom, the Fair Hand had infiltrated and took on the orcish empire 3 to 1, against their favour. In the end, they had won, but not without the loss of dozens of men. In a final stand, Krillag the Brave, the Orc Leader, had used a magical artefact on himself, causing the dune to be swept into a storm, killing all who were left. Luckily, most left the arena just in time, before the entire dune would be leveled into the Sea of Sands.

Composition

Manpower

Having taken elite warriors from local guards, militias, and other formations from the Vargas municipality, the manpower to the Fair Hand is quite low, around 200 members in total, excluding it's leader and founder, Miguel Vargas, as well as Lord Malison.
Split amongst then, there was 100 men considered infantry, all given a short sword, and halberd, for their equipment, of course with Half-Plate armour as well, ensuring that they'd be well defended in their encounters with monsters and opposing forces. There were also 25 Archers, each given a more flexible set of armour, most commonly being hide armour. Of course, they were also issued longbows, and often worked on flanking their enemies.    For their supply chain, they only had 50 men in manpower, each being given a longsword and shield, often considered for the larger battles in conflicts. More often than not, their main purpose was to be filler, and keep enemies busy whilst the real Fair Hand got to work. Lastly is another 25 men, said to be experts in healing, medicine, and arcana. Their purpose was crowd control, for both their own men and enemies. Mostly Wizards, funded by House Vargas directly with freezing spells at their disposal. They were vital to their fellow men, in supporting-based needs.

History

Historical loyalties

During their reign of activity, The Fair Hand initially operated as around 40 loyal, powerful soldiers from both Estrella Manor's guard, and many other places. However, throughout time, the House of Vargas, their superiors, would branch out, towards the Adilla Nation . Their alliance would allow The Fair Hand to gain new members, and powers across the eastern regions of their desert. Not only this, but this group had been given a right of passage from local religious groups to enter sacred or unaligned lands. On more than one occasion, they navigated themselves to the Plains, just before Ebermold could consider them in their land, and executed an enemy to the House.

Alpha Ankheg's Armour

Armor (medium or heavy, but not hide), very rare   Ankheg chitin is light, strong as metal and resistant to corrosion.
