The Fall of Bellopueblo's Palace

I must commend your bravery, fair heroes. But, when she's here, you'll be lucky. Dead early, yet not to suffer for eternity. I envy your luck. I envy you.

During the clash between the Adilla Nation and the Cult of the Dragon Queen, two groups were brought in. Mordakhesh the Second and his mercenaries on one, and the Dungeons and Dickheads. This led to a wild goose chase on finding Dragon Masks for both sides. It'd end with the Black Dragon Mask, held by Lord Malison in the Cathedral of Bellopueblo's Palace. In order to enter, the flawed heroic group had taken out some corrupted guards, and figured out their plan.

It was simple at first, just to start a small fire within the Palace, which'd cause a distraction and evacuate all of the innocents, according to one of their Warlocks, JJ. He'd cast the spell with the hope of his plan working. However, it'd only cause it to spread, without their knowledge. Delving into the palace, they'd defeat some guards that were defending Lord Malison. This'd guide them to the Cathedral, holding place of the Manus Glove, and where Malison was waiting for his opponents. Their battle was long, drawn out, and involved mind control, taking Jimbo to fight his allies. Luckily enough, the Lord was defeated. However, it took too long, and the palace was ablaze.

With the Black Dragon Mask, the party escaped the palace immediately, all by their own methods. However, Veronica Bello , Kito's girlfriend, had arrived momentarily after, along with the last survivor of House Vargas , Meka Vargas. Whilst the Vargas had helped evacuate any survivors, and make sure Lord Malison was dead, Veronica spent her time scolding the party, mainly JJ. 

In the end, there were very few survivors, and the Adillan King and Queen consort were found dead. For months after that, there was political turmoil across the city. Many only knew of the fire as an accident, and nobody knew what to do, or who to put in charge. Sure, Veronica was a child of the King, but she was not of the main bloodline, just a Duchess. Meka was strong, and a good leader, yet a Vargas. And many, many others could not qualify.
