The Flowing Reservoir
Legend says, that the Dragon of Platinum, Beauty Defined, had brought his first scale to this Reservoir. Emboldened by the plate, the waters began to cure the age and sickness of its inhabitants. Only here have I looked into the lands and found only happiness, I like it.Hidden away beneath the cracks of the multiverse, there is a finite demiplane. Given a common name of The Flowing Reservoir, it is said to hold a large portion of more holy water than even Oceanus cannot best in purity. At first, it was a mere collection of terrain and ocean water, but once Bahamut, the Dragon God of Goodness, had arrived, he shed his first scale into the water. This singular act granted it a wondrous ability to heal anyone of their age, ailments, diseases, or conditions. Men that were blind, paralysed, petrified, and even dismembered have been treated to mere ounces of this water, and their problems were reversed. Limbs regrew, stone turned to flesh. The only thing it cannot do to aid an injured person is bring them back from the dead. This can only be done if the Reservoir water is aligned with a Holy Dragon Mask of Bahamut's making, the reverse of the Chromatic Dragon Masks of Tiamat.- Elminster, upon finding citations for Volo's Anthology of Demiplanes
Within this demiplane is the Reservoir itself, made of magical driftwood, beneath a waterfall that magically brings anyone who may get caught by the flowing rivers into any of these three positive outer planes; Elysium, Bytopia, and the Beastlands. More often than not, the common person who falls down this is Bahamut's Gold Wyrm ally, in humanoid form, Sonngrad the Wing. Even though the realm is finite, it is said to be a perfect home for all metallic dragons. This attracted many of a scholar, the likes of Volo, Elminster, and even the Goddess of Magic in Toril, Mystra, in search of where her magic may have found itself in the worlds outside of Abholos.
Inhabitants
Other than Bahamut's occasional visit, as a god of his stature has many things to do, there are many creatures and people who can call The Flowing Reservoir their home. Within the Palace Grounds lays the Brass Dragon-Kin called Esther. Esther's role is to protect the Reservoir from any intruders. She had treated the role with utmost respect, sacrificing her life in the end as an attempt to stop Gaius' arrival. Gaius too had lived on the Reservoir, yet only momentarily. before being banished, and sent back to the Material Plane's Aitso. On the more feral side, is the four legendary beasts of Bahamut. In Northern Aitso, these four beasts were said, in mythology, as the creatures that built the seasons for a competition in Esika, the Kaldheim God of the Tree, for the most beautiful appearance of a tree. Neanlar, Legendary Carp, made hot weather glisten in the tree she worked on, making Summer. Hvoldir, the Legendary Sea Otter, would enjoy the cool breeze and growth on the trees, that he saw. Thus, he made Spring. Lamtarr, Legendary Moose, preferred a simplicity for their tree, and kept it cold and bare, like Winter. Lastly, is the Legendary Fox, Pthodín. Known for being a playful creature, he enjoyed hiding in large piles of leaves, and being a trickster. For this, he created Autumn. The four of these creatures were given Esika's thanks by being given eternal life at the Flowing Rivers, just before the Reservoir.
The Flowing Rivers meet here, one place, one time. This land is ours, mine. Think of it however you wish, but to me? It's peace. No countries, no wars, just water and land. And it's ours.- Gaius, upon finding the Flowing Reservoir
