Yevidri Aerilaya-Nede
Queen Yevidri Aerilaya-Nede is the second wife of King Alwyn Nede of Laskea. Yevidri is the half-sister of Matron Cînith Aerilaya, who share the same father but different mothers. While the Moon Elves are typically welcoming of all races (to a limit), it was understood that Yevidri taking any leadership position within the national borders of Aennamar could be 'problematic'. Instead, Yevidri was given the task of improving relations on behalf of the Moon Elves in the Kingdom of Laskea, which she has succeeded at immensely following her marriage to the King. She never quite expected this level of prominence, but handles the duties and privileges of her station with the utmost grace and love of her people.
Queen Aerilaya-Nede has a sincere love for the people of Laskea. Being a Half-Elf has allowed her to admire the aspects of both cultures, as well as enabling her in identifying their common goals and aspirations. She is an incredibly skilled and deft diplomat, and handles the affairs of the crown with the utmost trust of her husband. He leaves most negotiations to her as he prefers to be among the people and be the face of the nation.
Queen Aerilaya-Nede often visits the different districts within the City of Sestatrea, and does so with as little fanfare as possible. She also attends the Sanctum of Corellon Larethian, where she makes prayers and donations dedicated to both Corellon Larethian and Sehanine Moonbow.
History
Yevidri Aerilaya grew up in Graygate and attended the Lunula Lyceum while also receiving studies related to Human culture and protocol. After graduating, she attended court functions with her sister Cînith in order to learn the intricacies of court life. It was there that it was learned that King Alwyn Nede of Laskea had recently lost his wife during childbirth.
King Alwyn fell into despair following the death of his first wife Nilone Beivyre on the 21st of Caiman in 2269. He mourned her loss for nearly two years until he was introduced to Yevidri, who had been recently dispatched by Matron Cînith Aerilaya with instructions to gain influence with the Human Kingdom and as an Ambassador of goodwill from the Border Islands of Aennamar. They fell in love and were soon married in the early spring of 2272, with the announcement of Queen Aerilaya-Nede's pregnancy coming shortly thereafter. The citizens of Laskea breathed a collective sigh of relief at the news of a potential heir and are anxious awaiting news of the birth, expected to be either in late autumn or early winter.
