Jala Observatory
The Jala observatory is an ancient gnomish device. Its primary purpose was to scan the sky and study the cosmos. Aside from that, it also had a military application as it would be used to survey the land around it in search of threats to the Glazoon empire. Now, after the The great departure , the Phoenix Empire still wonders what are the capabilities of the ancient contraption, using it for its military purpose.

Most of the alterations it had was to better suit the Phoenix Empire and its human residents.
Architecture
The Observatory is a great, copper colored tower with a big, glass sphere on the top. Most of it presents a minimalist style, although its human owners added some details in the entrance, windows and the top. Most of this details represent phoenixes in yellow and orange color rising from the ashes and straight to the sky. men and women gazing the stars for great deities and gods. Feathers, lens and stars. Inside there aren't many rooms, the biggest being the "clear room" at the top, inside the big glass ball. Here, the observatory mechanism is settled and operated through a series of lens that magnify the landscape to the user.
History
The Observatory was first design and constructed to witness the stars in great detail and help uncover the secrets hidden behind space. It would later be a crucial tool and pillar for the planning of The Great Departure that marked the exile of the Glazoon empireDuring the Gnome ruling, HighMountain was a fortress fully constructed for military purposes. The observatory was built here because not only it could be use for vigilance, but, also, would be an important accent in the Glazoon astronomy research and, therefor, a valuable structure, deserving of a proper defense system.
After the exile, the observatory remained closed and abandoned for most of the era. After the human society, precursor to the now known Phoenix Empire, established its capital here, efforts were made through many years to reopen the telescope and unravel its ancient mysteries and clockworks. After several attempts, the observatory were open and its contraptions studied and, soon, put in function in the service of the Empire.
