Vandrais
"There is only one refuge for a pirate in this world, only one place that you can hide from the law. Vandrais is your only safe haven."
-Pirate Aramias Gulde to escaped convicts during a prison breakout.
Demographics
Due to the nature of the city, there's no easily quantifiable demographics. People come and go, and they come from all over the world.
Government
Vandrais, as a city of pirates, has no traditional system of governance. The closest thing to laws in the city are the 'Pirate Codes', an unwritten but generally agreed upon code of conduct for pirates that dictates who can and can't be stolen from and how pirates are supposed to treat each other.
Defences
The city is visited by at least ten different pirate crews a day, none of which are keen on seeing Vandrais taken away from the pirates. Anyone docked at the city is honor-bound to protect it from raids and invasions.
Industry & Trade
The entire city is built upon piracy- everything in the city is stolen or made from something stolen.
Infrastructure
Due to the types of people that built and frequent the city, a lot of the building that went into the city is centered around piracy. There are markets for selling off stolen goods, shipyards for repairing ships, liquor distilleries, and plenty of taverns.
Geography
The city of Vandrais is built upon an iceberg about 50 miles long and 20 miles wide. The iceberg never seems to shrink, leading some to believe it has some sort of magical properties that prevent it from melting. The iceberg is constantly moving due to being caught in the flow of oceanic currents. Due to this, pirates who wish to dock in Vandrais must consult a chart to determine where the iceberg where be at any given point in time.
