Personal history
Her mother had her at the temple and died during childbirth leaving no knowledge of the father behind so Bernhardine was raised by the clerics of the Central Church of Taste earning her the temple born surname 'Chaliceborne'. On cleric in particular, and the Head Cleric at the time, Fratilda Owens, took charge in the raising of Bernhardine.
Bernhardine took to the doctrine well, indulging in all her desires in the entertainment district whenever she could find free time between her duties and partaking in most optional charity work offered within the church. Her desires overcame her and, believing herself to be more deserving of power within the church due to her always being a part of it, she sabotaged and arranged the death of Fratilda, usurping her.
Recently, in a rare external expedition, Bernie found a lost rust coloured dragon wyrmling in the nearby woods and convinced it to join the church under her command. She regularly sends out someone to check on it and teach it the ways of taste. She has taken to it in sympathy of it being left alone, like herself.
Seeing the increasing curfews and closing of the borders, she has started an underground smuggling ring of luxuries, The Secret Bounty, that her and the other clerics like to indulge in, intending to distribute them to their richer followers for profit and charity. The group is still in its budding days with training taking place in a back room of the temple.
