Description

Bright is a suprisingly shabbily dressed man for the editor in chief. He is relatively slight in build perhaps underfed by just a tad. His pale green skin, speckled with freckles, fades into muddy coloured horns that curl back slightly. His brown eyes are focused intently on the speaker from behind his round lenses as if he is taking in absolutely every word.

Background

Bright was left to the clerics when his mother died in his birth under their care. He was raised mostly by an older kindly cleric who, in her guilt for not saving his mother, pushed him towards studying medicine in her stead. He was, unfortunately, very bad at medicine and found his truth in writing instead.  Not wanting to dissapoint her, he kept trying and pushing on, even after her death in his late teens, until one day a stanger caught him writing, read over it and encouraged him to pursuit what made him happy. After all he was good at it and could help more people with his words than his hands ever would. He promptly flung his pen by accident. He left the temple that day to take up a career in jornalism with The Edjudence Enquirer, intending to write his 'mother' proud. Over time he came to be the boss and puts as much care into the paper as he ever could. In recent years the Enquirer has fallen on hard times and Bright has been foregoing his own pay every now and then to try and salvage some funds even going so far as to sleep in his office to save on rent. He is afraid to tell his workers about the issue and is clawing desperately to save the paper he so loves. The stress of it all has turned him onto drugs and thus he has become dependant on Idomin Foolsborne who is not just taking money for him but occasionally secrets and work. Bright is in contact with Dae Lionstrike, a guard working as a jailor in the Secret Prison, who feeds him stories of who's in there and why with the agreement that he not publish them directly, only to be informed by them and hear what the mages have to say for themselves.
