Evangeline is a broad woman with her sleves rolled all the way up over her biseps. Her shoulders, neck and face are speckled with freckles only a few shades darker than the rest of her skin. Background

Evangeline was one of the masons hired to work on the secret prison. Her secrecy has been bought by both finances and her personal belief in the system.
Her husband was a mage and she saw him deteriorate quickly when his magic was restricted, driving him to a point of unrecognisable madness. This encouraged her to believe that magic is a dangerous thing to mess with. People become reliant, obsessive and dependent on it. She thinks that the eventual execution of her husband was for his own good. He had fallen too far.
Her younger sister, Hope Harriet, has started to dabble in magic and Evangeline is torn. She wants to encourage her to stop before it takes too strong a hold on her. She is considering turning her in but does not want to damage their relationship and thinks that her sister can still be reasoned with without the intervention of authorities.
