Grelt Keep Study

The smell of mildew soaked books floats on the air in this room. A once cozy looking armchair sits stationed towards a stained glass window depicting the Imprisoning of Baph'amal. The desk is strewn with papers and basic stationary. A bookshelf rests against the North-East corner of the room, half empty and rotten.

The Desk
On a DC 14 Investigation check you find a semi-decipherable report among the papers. The rest are either too damp to read or just downright uninteresting. The report reads:I continue to contemplate the ridiculousness of this endeavour. I have told them over and over it is futile and even if some how on this gods forsaken plane of existence it is possible then it will take a hundred times our life spans to even make a start. The closest we have come is an attempt at an artefact to try and rend some control over the thing but as I hypothesised the idiots did nothing but melt their own minds.
The Bookshelf
On a DC 16 Investigation check, you pick out the most recent journal before the vanishing. The nearest entry reads:A pair of visiting lords have died in our guest house. It was bad enough when it was only the serving staff that it went after, though I have to say that the cook and his aids melting into our stew as they brought it to the table was far from a pleasant experience. It was at least still fairly easy to keep under wraps. This on the other hand will be far from easy to cover up. There will be an inquisition for sure and I'd hate to see the skin peel from the muscle and bone of another pair of inquisitive guards. Its hard enough to get blood and viscera out of the carpets as it is let alone dispose of these gods damned skeletons. Why in the name of the divine are they so well preserved? Its unsettling to say the least...
