Description

A youthful looking human man with soft features and gentle green eyes. His tawny hair falls slightly into his eyes from beneath the practical golden band that serves as a crown. There are runes carved elegantly into it that read 'in Ascio nomen servimus'.

Background

The crown reads: 'In Ascium's name, we serve.'

Irvine was raised parallel to his twin sister, Avicia. She was slightly older and thus being primed to take the crown.

Irvine was taught many similar skills but with the angle that he would be his sisters advisor and loyal protector.

Their parents were felled by a magical curse when the twins were young and the chief advisor, Priscilla Vasten, took charge of the country and their care as Crown Regent.

Not long after Avicia was kidnapped and killed when travelling by a circle of mages who believed her death to be an important part of a ritual. Irvine doesn't know the details.

The details of her assassination were covered up much like their parents and Irvine had to step up and take her place.

Irvine holds a lot of resentment towards magic and mages after they caused the death of all of his immediate family.

He also wants to push the church out of Ascium, partially down to paranoia that the central church has a strangle hold on the ruling of most countries and fear that they will have more power in his own country than he and, partially, out of spite that they never once stepped in to prevent or ease the misfortune that befell his family.

He is also aware of the amount of cults and sects and their impact on his people and wants the woeful influence of the gods that cause these things excised.

Irvine avoids people most of the time. He doesn't make public appearances, preferring to rule from his seat at the head of the counsel.
