Mega shanty

It was not soon after that the great migration would settle, and the displaced masses would do what they could to build their shelters on the outskirts of the reaming major cities on earth. At first, these massive tarpaulin and corrugated metal camps that stretched for miles surrounding these few cities only provided crude shelter, with the remaining powers of the world doing what they could to prevent chaos and starvation within these colossal refugee camps. It did not take more than a few years for enterprising individuals and governments looking to claim their citizens to work to create actual infrastructure within these encampments. After the ensuing bureaucracy and politics that came with deciding who would handle the displaced souls' humanity would work on scrapping raw building materials from their abandoned cities ruined by strange weather and seismic activity. Lucky this was before the arrival of the abominations, and haunts, making the task challenging but not impossible. These "mega shanties," as they would be called in English, would be made up from the gutted remains of many once-bustling metropolises. The structures are hap dash and crude with little in the way of architectural design, but they would provide the necessary infrastructure to be Self-sufficient. They are built with a vertical stacking design used to save space, with narrow streets and walkways and only a few significant arteries for traffic in and out of the major cities they surround. Depending on the city, crime rates and commodities could vary as with any city. What was unavoidable is the clash of cultures that these places would suffer, being that most of these cities sprung from displaced peoples from many borders. These places are a melting pot of race and culture that often leads to many invisible lines being drawn in the chaotic vertical blocks.
