Ward animal

Ward animals are animals used as cheap labor in military and civil sectors. For the most part, Ward animals are usually provided by the ACLA or "registered" as "registered wards" by individuals, governments, and corporations through the ACLA for a variety of purposes ranging from civil to (non combat) military uses.   "Black wards" on the other hand are animals traded without the bureaucracy of the ACLA and don't often have a paper trail associated with their trade. More often than not, less useful animals not suited for heavy labor or combat are kept as pets, but capable beasts are used in shady and often dangerous applications by private armies and criminal organizations as animal soldiers and combatants.   Black wards are not necessarily illegal, however, welfare organizations (not including the ACLA) and old pre-aberrance animal welfare laws are more apt to crack down on black ward use.   The term "ward animal" has a double meaning where the animal is a ward under the protection of their human counterparts and is also used to "ward" against the chaos of abberance in general. it is not understood clearly why this is the case, however.
