Mylo Traumes

Mylo Traumes (b. 2984 IA) is the current leader of the Hirat Freestaters. Despite being a Freestater, he works to maintain a good relationship with the Union, and the Hirat are frequent guests at the Exploration Base Camp. 
Mylo has led the Hirat after ascending to the role of leader at the age of 18. He defeated another Freestater clan, and rather than exterminating the clan, he incorporated the remnants into his own clan. 
Following the outbreak of war with Falara, his clan has faced threats from her forces. The Hirat works together with Exploration officers to secure the area around Base Camp.

Personal history

Mylo Traumes was born in 2984 IA southeast of the Union. He was the only child of Rothermel and Yordi Traumes. He grew up in the Hirat Freestater clan and travelled with them for most of his early life.
Shortly after his 10th birthday, both of Mylo's parents were killed in the opening skermishes of a conflict between the Hirat and another clan called the Okhotsk. Mylo managed to survive the attack and lived as an orphan of the Hirat, though his presence was tolerated more than any care by the rest of the clan.
The leadership of the clan opened up after the death of Ararat Putnam. Mylo managed to outcompete the other candidates for the position and took control of the clan shortly after his 18th birthday.
Mylo led the Hirat to victory over the Okhotsk. Although the Okhotsk expected to be eradicated after their loss, Mylo incorporated the remnants into the Hirat, and many of the survivors became loyal members of the Hirat clan.
Mylo has led the reformed Hirat Freestaters for the past 140 years. He has maintained relations with the Exploration Base Camp, exchanging information and materials for supplies from the Union, and many Explorations officers consider the Hirat to be close allies of the Union.

Mylo is pragmatic. He believes that survival is more important than pride; he is willing to forsake the absolute freedom of his people if it means that they'll survive a day longer. 
Despite the hostility that Freestaters face within the Union, Mylo believes that it is possible for Unionists and Freestaters to work together.

Family Ties

The Traumes family has only 2 members: Mylo and his daughter Corba. He has no siblings or any extended family. 
Mylo married Fleury Marina in 3078 IA. Their marriage was one of convenience, but their relationship grew into one of love. They struggled to conceive a child, and Fleury suffered several miscarriages and stillbirths over the next 40 years.
Their marriage did produce a single child: Corba Traumes. Born in 3122 IA, Corba is the only child of Mylo. Fleury died shortly after her birth due to complications from the birthing process. 
Mylo has not remarried since Fleury's death, and he often wears mourning clothes against the culture of the Hirat.
