The Starving Sea

The Starving Sea is the name for the enormous body of water that bifurcates the northern Acaelican coastline. Although the sea was once substantially smalle, it earned its name by constantly "eating away" at coastline. In some cases, it did this at a rate fast enough to take coastal cities by surprise--destroying them as it did. Many attribute its growth to the unseen actions of the dark god Csijo.

Continued Growth

It is theorized that Acaelica will one day be completed bisected by the Sea as it continues its path through the center of the continent. Although recent centuries have seen this expansion slow significantly, no one agrees on the reason for it and few trust it to continue forever. With the exception of those living on the Crystalline Coast, there are no cities within fifty miles of the Starving Sea.
