South Water Kingdom

The South Water Kingdom is a kingdom on Acciphere, located on the North Gornary island. It is a kingdom recognized by the Council of Elders, and is famous for its massive ports and building the infamous luxury submarine, the SS Aquarine. The kingdom is divided into two sectors, one half on the North Gornary island and the other half BELOW the sea. Each sector has its jobs, and some examples include fishing, taming Hydrolynxes , and various others.

Culture

The main culture of the South Water Kingdom depends mostly on the sea and all its benefits, with even their temples being shaped like natural coral reefs on the ocean bed. The main religion followed there is Sutiratism, though there are few who also follow Aquarainty as well.

Assets

The South Water Kingdom is rich in resources such as kelp and sand. It has a massive glass industry as well, along with an impressive amount of Hydroponics labs present in the capital. They also have the largest docks in the world (called the Docks of Kelp) where the SS Aquarine and other infamous ships visit often.

History

How was the Kingdom born?

The South Water Kingdom used to be a part of the original Water Kingdom. Everyone used to live together like brothers and sisters, until Aquarainty was founded, or so they think. When the religion was born, the people accepted it, except for the General of the Water Kingdom, Gornary. He sought to eradicate the minor religion from the purebreds of the Water Kingdom, so he sent men after the people following Aquarainty. What followed was the period of Great Sadness. The Aquaraintists were enraged at how the Sutiratists ostracised them, so they fought a great war (nicknamed the War of the Waters).
In the meantime, the general was devising a master plan. He figured out the King of the Water Kingdom must choose a side or abdicate. Since a divided kingdom was weaker than a united one, Gornary sought to take control of the South Water Kingdom. And he did!
In order to achieve this, he ordered scientists to create a weapon so powerful it would generate enough power to split the mainland in half.
Well, he didn't exactly split it in half; the South Water Kingdom moved downwards, and the North Water Kingdom moved upwards, leaving a small piece of land called the Dragontail route.

How was the Kingdom after the split?

To make a LONG story short, it was in utter chaos.
The Great Sadness shook up both the kingdoms and the religions. everyone was in despair. The location of most factories in the North and most of the agricultural fields in the South meant that the North couldn't get enough food, while the South couldn't get enough materials. This led to severe deaths in the kingdoms.
Gornary, on the other hand, was enjoying the luxuries of the South Water Kingdom. He frequently sent military generals to sweep ghettos and cities for Aquaraintists. Millions were killed. Agriculture crippled under his feet. People were left to suffer. The unemployed just played in the streets or lined up to get their daily wage. The rich were afraid that they would be reduced to the level of the worker society, so many even fled the kingdom, starting the cycle all over again. Finally, Gornary noticed their issues but did absolutely nothing.
The people thought that Gornary had to be assassinated if this period had to end. The workers formed societies and made multiple attempts at killing the estranged General but to no avail. Finally, his own son was ashamed at what his father became, and killed him to take over the throne. He promised to rebuild everything in the South Water Kingdom. He did stand up to his promise; making advanced cities wherever he step foot. It was his idea to create the underwater part of the kingdom too, building a massive palace for himself at Hydrocity. And so it became capital.

Territories

The South Water Kingdom calls officially recognizes its territory as everything on the island of Haldivar (named after the first King of the South Water Kingdom) and below. It also considers all the ocean around it as its territory, as they have already built huge underwater cities everywhere. But because the Kingdom was seen as claiming too much land, the Council of Elders made the Arbitary Claim of Land Pact (ACL Pact for short) which stated that no Kingdom can arbitarily take over a piece of land without the proper permission from the Council of Elders first. Now the South Water Kingdom owns the Haldivar Island along with the underwater reefs right below the island. The previous area of ocean that the Kingdom covered is now part of Acciphere, i.e it doesn't belong to any single Kingdom.

Agriculture & Industry

The South Water Kingdom is known for its fertile lands. It's agricultural production value almost tops that of the Garfaxin Kingdom. It produces millions of tons of surplus produce that is exported to other Kingdoms.  But the speciality of agriculture in the South Water Kingdom is that they farm underwater as well. The kingdom is known for its massive amounts of kelp, which the above-ground industries use to create tubes of toothpaste, shampoos, in food as dressing, in dairy products and even in medicines. It is also one of the favourite foods of Hydrolynxes , so kelp plays an important role in taming the mystical creatures.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure of cities in the kingdom are quite royal-themed; the scenery mostly resembles an underwater London. Even the vehicles are London themed so as to fit in with the buildings. Some of the signature double-decker buses also pass through sometimes. The underwater part is brightly lit with underwater lighting such as sea lanterns.

Erit Aquae Mater Nostra!

Fun fact: Due to the military dictator Gornary not listening to his commanders, he accidentally named the southern island as North Gornary Island and vice-versa. The Council Of Elders originally thought of renaming it, but they found it too funny to replace so it stuck.
