The Water Clan

The Water Clan is one of the four great clans of Acciphere, the others being the Earth Clan, Fire Clan and the Lightning Clan. Their culture is distinctly water-influenced. Most of the Water Clan is made up of Aquareinists. The Water Clan was almost completely exterminated by Leonidas in 1286 KE. Now, the Water Clan is only a fraction of its former size and power.

Structure

The Water Clan has two internal sects. First, you start of as an Apprentice and start learning the ways of the Clan. The Watermasters are the ones who learnt everything about the Clan. Once a person reaches the stage of a Watermaster, he/she teaches young Water Apprentices. Water Apprentices have a training period of 7 years, and are divided into First Year Apprentices, Second year Apprentices, and so on. They become Watermasters after a ceremony. Watermasters are divided into three levels of ascending power, and then come the Water Clan General, and the Head Watermaster (sometimes also called Head Monk or Head Nun).

Culture

The Water Clan has a culture of its own, with some Aquareinist influences. Most Water Clan members are Aquareinists. Most art and scripture is related to water and its studies. Since only the Water Clan’s members have a natural affinity to controlling water, it’s looked down upon to marry someone outside their clan, but it’s not banned. The only problem that occurs is that the kid born to a family with only one Water Clan member will end up not being able to control water, or do it barely.

Assets

The Water Clan has various monasteries across Acciphere, the headquarters being in the North Water Kingdom. The North Water Kingdom Monastery was destroyed by Leonidas in 1286 KE. However, it was rebuilt after the War of the Artefacts. The temple of the Power Beast Graken is also owned and operated by the Water Clan.

History

The Beginning

When God sealed Itsumo the Tortoise inside a stone that was soon to be called the Artefact of Water, he gave them to a group of people living near the sea, and told them to take good care of it. He told them not to use it at any costs, or he would curse Acciphere. When they received the stone, they kept it hidden deep underground. Soon as time passed, they discovered that they could manipulate water. Research and discoveries led to the truth that they could manipulate water to their will. Soon, they started using it to wage wars on others. They were unstoppable, and finally they came to a point where they met the Clan of Fire. In the battle that ensued, The Clan of Fire barely defeated the Clan of Water. They were baffled that there were others like them in this world. Accepting their demise, they left to their homeland, vowing to take revenge.

War and Peace

It was time of the War of the Kingdoms. All the Kingdoms of Acciphere back then fought each other, hiring the Clans situated in their homelands to do their bidding. Not long after, the four clans faced off against each other. The power of them fighting against each other was told to completely rewrite the geography of the place. Unfortunately, no one won in the battle; Lightning defeated Water, Water defeated Fire, Fire defeated Earth and Earth defeated Lightning. It was a four-way deadlock. Each of them, tasting bitter defeat, and knowing they couldn’t win against three clans at once, tried to convince their Kingdoms to make a peace treaty. After almost five years, they accepted, and a pact was formed. The four Great Clans of Acciphere were now allies, rather than enemies on the battlefield. They built the first monastery in the North Water Kingdom, and made it their headquarters. They slowly grew in numbers, and started expanding their reach. They harnessed and perfected their ways to use the Artefact, and made their own weapons that each held a little bit of the power of the Artefacts.

Leonidas' Revenge

In 1286 KE,Leonidas West, a former defrocked Water Seventh Year Apprentice, destroyed the headquarters of the Water Clan, killed the Head Watermaster Ira and took the Water Artefact as his own. He used it to destroy one of the remaining great clans of Acciphere, the Earth Clan (having already destroyed the Fire and Lightning Clan). He also razed the other monasteries of the Water Clan to the ground, exterminating most of them. After the War of the Artefacts in 1290 KE, Adila Desisden took up the position of Head Watermaster and gathered all remaining Water Clan members together. They together, with the help of Power Beast Itsumo, built back the first monastery in the North Water Kingdom and a temple for the Power Beast Itsumo. After that, the Water Clan’s numbers have been slowly increasing.

You can’t stop the waves, but you can be one with them.

It is a good read. Dates of important events could get a better grasp of the timeline, but overall nice work! :)
