It was supposed to be your time. You had the skills. You had the talent. Nothing was going to get in your way. When you went to your audition with Acquisitions Inc's Waterdeep Branch, you were going to let nothing stop you from a sweet job opportunity on the A-Team of the premier adventuring company in the Forgotten Realms. Unfortunately, you done fucked up. Maybe you were sabatogued, maybe you just made a mistake, or maybe you shouldn't have slept with that whore or had that last glass of ale the night before. Regardless, you failed. And now the only job you qualify for is on the D-Team.
The D stands both for “Delivery” and “Demeaning”, as you've learned.
Now, you've got job making shady deliveries and having to do whatever it takes to get the job done. You need the coin in your purse too much to say no. And you signed the employment paperwork knowing fully well that the unofficial company motto is “Morality Pays Poorly”. Lie, cheat, steal, and do whatever it takes to get that “Exceeds Expectations” on your next performance appraisal.
