Dragonborn

Description

Dragonborns descendant of dragons. This sentient race is known for their striking resemblance to dragons. Covered in scales, their tall and powerful frames are awe inspiring for onlookers not familiar with this race. Though they can look intimidating most dragonborns are highly intellectual and are pleasant to hold conversation with.  

Race Stats

Ability Score Increase: Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.   Age: Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. They live to be around 80.   Size: Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.   Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.   Draconic Ancestry: You are distantly related to a particular kind of dragon. In Acrither there are mainly two types of dragonborns, descendants of the Azure dragons and descendant of the Scorchfire Dragons. Choose a type from the below list; this determines the damage and area of your breath weapon, and the type of resistance you gain.

Breath Weapon: You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. It deals damage in an area according to your ancestry. When you use your breath weapon, all creatures in the area must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your ancestry. The DC of this saving throw is 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increase to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th, and 5d6 at 16th level. You can only use breath weapon once per long rest, increasing to twice at 6th level, thrice at 11th level and four times at 16th level.   Damage Resistance: You have resistance to the damage type associated with your ancestry.   Languages: You can read, speak, and write Common and Draconic.  

Azure Dragonborn

Azure Dragonborns, the proud descendants of the ancient Azure Drakes, possess a striking presence that mirrors the majesty of their dragon ancestors. Their scales shimmer in various shades of blue, reminiscent of the tranquil coastal waters that their forebears once called home. Their eyes radiate an inner intensity, reflecting the wisdom and power inherited from their draconic lineage.   Tall and muscular, Azure Dragonborns exude an aura of strength and determination. Their physical prowess, combined with their innate connection to the elements, makes them formidable beings. Their bodies are adorned with intricate patterns that resemble swirling ocean currents, serving as a visual testament to their deep bond with the coastal environment.   Azure Dragonborns possess a raw, untamed energy that courses through their veins. They carry within them the echoes of their dragon ancestry, manifesting in their breath weapon, which channels the primal forces of wind, when unleashed, their breath can summon gusts of wind or water. When unleashed, their breath can summon gusts of wind or unleash a torrential wave, reflecting their affinity for the coastal realms.   Azure Dragonborns value their heritage and honor the teachings passed down by their ancestors. They embrace the virtues of wisdom, harmony, and protection, striving to maintain the delicate balance of the coastal mountains they call home. Scorchfire Dragonborns

In the scorching aftermath of the ancient Scorchfire Dragons, a new breed emerged known as the Scorchfire Dragonborns. Descendants of their fiery ancestors, these beings bore the unmistakable traits that marked their lineage. Their scales, reminiscent of flickering flames, shimmered in shades of red, orange, and gold, carrying within them the echoes of the scorching lands that birthed their kin. The Scorchfire Dragonborns inherited the raw power of fire, their breath weapon a manifestation of their draconic heritage. With a mighty exhale, they could unleash a torrent of searing flames upon their foes, embodying the untamed and chaotic nature of their ancestry.   These Dragonborns carried within them the duality of their heritage.
