Popular Actreine Travelling Foods

Many Actreines may elect to travel long distances for different purposes. By far, though, the most common reason is trading.
Merchants sometimes spend several months travelling, and not all of that time is spent in civilizations with taverns and inns. Because of this, they often bring provisions with them to stave off starvation.
This is by no means a complete list of all foods brought on a trading journey, but they are the most popular.

Warm Walkers

Warm Walkers are a common sight in the bags of Kreshman merchants, as well as in the bags of those travelling through Kreshniva. As an alcoholic drink with strong spices, it's known for keeping many travelers warm and cheery while wandering in the frigid north.

Qallialon Jerky

A Qallialon is a large reptile (about the size of a Labrador Retriever). They're covered in plated scales, and they have a thick, strong tail. From those who have braved its claws and hissing, the meat of a Qallialon tastes quite good, almost like chicken and ham, with a hint of honey mustard.

Ichiolini Bread

Ichiolini Bread is a simple bread made from Ichiolini Wheat, which mainly grows in Chutus. They're commonly seen as small, hand-sized lumps of bread. Their size is to keep the bread from being crushed, as well as to keep them from taking up as much space. While the smaller chunks of bread are known for growing stale, or having little flavor, or both, they serve as a good, filling, and cheap food.

Dried Ducleku Berries

Ducleku Berries are mainly found growing on bushes in the mountains of Venzo. They taste somewhat like cherries, but sweeter. For travelling, they are sliced into small bits and dried, so as to keep them easily portable and more difficult to squish.

Akeorac Milk

The milk of an Akeorac is a popular alternative to the Warm Walkers, for those who don't want to get drunk or overheat. The milk is also sometimes fermented into small discs or balls of cheese in order to be transported easier.

Stew

Stews are quick and easy to make when stopped to rest while travelling. They are oftentimes made from the jerkies carried by the travellers, or fresh meat if they only recently left town, along with herbs and any vegetables or nuts found in the area. Any fresh meat is commonly tenderized by being placed, while wrapped, underneath the saddles, bridles, and other bindings on the mounts or cart-pulling horses as they travel. Based on accessibility, other meats or jerky can be substituted in with little to no change in the overall final product.
