Psychic burnout is a condition that usually affects old or weak psychics who push their psychic abilities beyond their limits. Whilst giving them far stronger powers for a short amount of time, most people have their souls and bodies faith into the Aetherius or the void due to the immense psychic, mental, and physical strain it takes on their body. Generally, it is used as a last resort option when defending a high value place or target or for achieveing a particular goal that one would be willing to give everything for. Generally, those who heroically win the day with this power are widely hailed as heroes, as they sacrifice their lives without a second thought for their cause.

Psychic burnout is a non transmittable condition that can affect only a single person for one case and as such, it is not able to spread to others.

Causes

The main cause of psychic burnout is the fact that sometimes, old, ailing and weak psychics push their body and powers to the limit in order to gain strength for fulfilling an objective, which whilst giving them a lot of strength and increased psychic abilities, destroys their mind, body and soul, eventually fading into the afterlife.
