The Saurians are a race of cold blooded, highly advanced Reptilian humanoids originating from the planet Sauros in the Andromeda galaxy. Being one of the most recent races to join the Alliance with the obvious exception of mankind, the Saurians are one of the five major races in the Alliance. A strong, resilient and often wild species of Xenos, they are often shunned by mankind for their hideous appearances unlike the Aenarri. Despite this and some other issues with humanity, they have banded together just like most of the other races of the universe and beyond in order to fight a losing war against the breaker.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Saurians, as their name suggests, are a tall, reptilian species of humanoids originating from the Andromeda galaxy. Being reptilian like, their sense of vision and speed is far greater than that of all the other races. Their bodies are covered in scales , which serve as a natural form of armor that can be augmented by Bio treatments available in most major Saurian settlements. Their arms are long and slender, yet incredibly muscular and are easily able to rip a normal Terran human to literal shreds. The Saurians have fingers that end in sharp claws, being easily able to slice flesh and bone alike and serve as natural weapons. Their tails are incredibly flexible and can also serve as a natural, hard hitting blunt weapon against their foes as well as a device to strangle them to death.
As an amphibian race that mainly evolved in a lush , tropical rainforest type world akin to the Amazon rainforests of Terra, the Saurians are perfectly adapted to Hot, humid, weather as well as various tropical diseases and other illnesses. In fact, most of the times, the native flora and fauna of their world, starting from the simplest of Nanobacteria and microorganisms to the largest beasts on land, in the sea and in air will most likely obey the command of a Saurian. Saurians are also known to take on some of the characteristics of prey they consume, provided they are willing to take in their biological knowledge from their own will

Genetics and Reproduction

Saurians, being a reptilian and non mammal species, hatch their young from eggs. These eggs take about ten months to over a year on average to gestate fully before they are ready to hatch. As a result of this, Saurian infants are able to walk upright, see and talk from a very early age.

Ecology and Habitats

Saurians, being cold blooded and evolving primarily on a hot, tropical and humid jungle world, usually prefer hot and warm climates . They are notably resistant to many of the diseases of the galaxy. Indeed, they even have an uncanny ability to tame the wild to do their bidding and to what extent they can do thus, depends upon how powerful they are, with powerful Saurians being able to control even the entire planets Ecosystem. Most of the Saurians are taught from an early age on how to tame the wild to their service and also, the moral lesson of never taking too much unnecessarily from their ecosystem as they have every right to live as the Saurians.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Saurians are found in a wide range of climates ranging from tropical rainforest's to scorching deserts. The only place they cannot handle however, are cold regions, being a cold blooded race themselves.

Saurians are on average slightly more intelligent than humans. Despite this, Saurians are different in the fact that they become both mentally and physically mature far faster than humans.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Saurians have a diverse range of abilities , depending on which caste and class, they fall to. Warrior castes usually have incredible tactical and combat skills, and their bodies and senses are adapted perfectly for this role. The higher the rank of the warrior, the more powerful and intelligent they become, at one point even receiving psychic powers to aid themselves in combat.
In stark contrast , most of the architects and scientists of the Saurians usually have little to no physical power of themselves, but they are very capable of combat through a combination of harsh training, Incredible intelligence which allows them to invent groundbreaking technologies and use them in combat, and often having deadly psychic abilities that are just as suited to killing as they are for non violent uses. Thus , the Saurians have a myriad amount of Castes ready to fulfill almost any role there is in their war against the breaker.
