Across the cosmos, one can find numerous tunnels scattered in the vacuum of space. These tunnels are gigantic, being wide enough to accomodate hundreds of ships at once. But that is not the biggest strength of these wondrous creations.
What makes them truly beautiful and useful is that they serve as a point of contact between two spaces, wherever they may be. In simpler terms, this means that a tunnel in the voidweb can allow virtually instantaneous travel between its beginning and end points, even if the distances are on the scale of billions of light years. They are also completely safe from demons that often plague the void and feast on the souls aboard interstellar and intergalactic ships, which is another added boon of them
The result is that the voidweb offers an extremely fast and safe method of travel across the universe. It allows for emergency deployments of troops, easy and safe transport of cargo and many other boons to the races of the universe who use it. Though in a dilapidated state in many places, the Voidweb is still strong enough to be used rather extensively by both the forces of darkness and good.
Currently, most of the voidweb tunnels and gates are controlled by the forces of order and good, with them being key installations that are guarded at all times. It is believed that TheArtifacts of the Ancients also contain blueprints and schematics on repairing and building more voidweb tunnels. If this is true and they are found, it would be a game changer for anyone who can get their hands upon the technology, especially the forces of the good as they could instantaneously deploy reinforcements to defend far flung colonies.
