Branos

Branos is the oldest nation of Adatia, and is the only nation that is indirectly controlled by the gods. It is peaceful and has embassies in the capitals of all major and most minor political powers.

History

Branos is the oldest Nation in Adatia. It can trace its history to the days before the gods chose their Avatar. In its founding days it was called Algora when it was founded around the Nexus by Queen Emeresia. After Nyx claimed Emeresia, and Silvana joined her sister, Branos was governed by the Diarchs of the Moonsung and Brightspire family, direct descendants of the blessed Queen Emeresia. After The Great War Branos becaem the focalpoint for many of the most nfluential events in the history of Branos. It was one of the first to react to the Undead Scourge, and instrumental to its end. After Nyx removed herself from the world the Brightspire family was exiled, leaving the Moonsung family as the lone rulers of Branos.

Demography and Population

Branos consists mostly of humans, but has an abnormally high percentage of all other Sentient species. This is due to Silvana willing acceptance of all people as long as their intention are pure.

Territories

The territory of of Branos reach from the deserts of the wandering tribes of Esmea in the south to the the city State of Lochaim in the northeast. In the west their territory is confined by the mountains and in the east by the sea.

Military

Branos has a noble military history. Though few instances of organized conflict can be found, the few times the military has been called their superior soldiers made short work of the numerous enemies before them. The branos Military consists of a small amount of well armored footborn knights, whose resilience is unmatched. In major conflicts they rely on their numerous allies to provide the bulk of the forces. The Military has few men in the south, but have many forts dotting the mountain range to the west, guarding against the goblin and hobgoblin tribes, and the occasional incursions from the beasts of the evergrove. In the northwest Fort Firmum stands steadfast against the monstrosities that wander from the Temere Waists.

Technological Level

The technology of Branos is for the most part on par with the rest of the world. They are subpar in their magical and metallurgy abilities. The dwarves of Emeresia and the magicians guild are the only reason that Branos can command any respect from the surround nations in this respect. In respect to infrastructure and agriculture they are unrivaled. The roads that snake through Branos are the envy of the world, and their irrigation systems, the predictive crop rotation

Religion

Branos is an open society that has a special emphasis on the worship of Silvana. Before her disappearance Nyx was worshiped in equal standing to Silvana but after her disappearance the Aura of the Nexus has removed all trace of the lost Goddess, though certain points of interest still exist, for example the Fountain of Fertility in Emeresia.
