The High Cathedral

The high Cathedral was built in the early years of Branos. It was one of the last projects that Queen Emeresia initiated before she died.

Purpose / Function

The High Cathedral was built to honour Silvana and Nyx. In the years to come it remained the central Church for both goddesses, and became the seat of power for the Arch Bishop and the High priest.

Architecture

The consists of circle of large, marble pillars surrouning a grey alter on a podest. The pillars carry an immense marble dome that merges into an obsidian square roof. At the edge of the roof the obsidian seems to flow into large, gothic styled towers. Additionally obsidian tendrils snake to the ground, almost smokelike in their apearance. At the cardinal points circular marble balconys emerge from the obsidian. At the back of the Cathedral marble and obsidian intermingle to in a large pillar. At the center of this pillar is a stairwell that leads to the roof. Along the stairwell there are chambers for the priests, storage rooms, kitchens and whatever elese the Cathedral may need.
