Drake

The first drakes originated from Zipacna's back. They are one of our worlds largest flying creatures- their mouths alone are the size of a person. Like the wyverns, drakes are more bird like in that their front limbs are their wings. With a wingspan as large as a small army, they can fly higher than any other species of dragons. They are most often seen in the air, as they also nest in peak mountain caves that are out of reach for most people. Of all dragons, drakes' scales are the thinnest which makes them vulnerable when on the ground, but their lightness is also what makes them effective flyers despite their large size.
