Summoner

Summoning is a skill and profession amongst all four people of Adijari. It is the art of summoning a spirit. Because there are so many spirits of Adijari, becoming a summoner means honing a skill set. Spirits are attracted or respond to different stimuli within a summoning spell. There are summoning spells that spirits can choose to respond to and there are some they are beholden too. Becoming a summoner requires studying the spirits they wish to summon and adhering to the spirits proclivities. They serve as middle men for clients who wish to ask a boon of spirits and can charge a high price for their specialized skills. The most important thing summoners need to know aside from the ceremonial spell is what tribute the spirit will demand. More powerful spirits will expect an offering just for answering the summons and another for the boon or task asked of them. If these requirements are not met, the spirit will often blame the summoner as well as the client for wasting their time and will punish them by refusing any future summons from them or by cursing them in some way. It is partly because of this risk that summoner's fees are so high.   There can be multiple summoning spells to summon a single spirit as opposed to just one. This is helpful as each of the four people have access to different magic.  So a single spirit might be able to be summoned through a song from the elves or from a light show put on by image casting devs. That said, there are many spirits who will only respond to one spell such as one that involves animal magic that only a qui-lahk can perform. This again makes summoning a lucrative profession for the right people in the right place.
