Zipacna

(Minor spoiler warning for 'The Secret of The Zipacna Dragons')   Zipacna was one of the four great dragons of Adijari. With claws the size of hills he was unfathomably large. Zipacna was also one of the first builders. He fused earth into mountains with his fiery breath, and ran his great feet from the ocean over the earth, creating rivers that became the bedrock of civilization. He was a creator, but to create you must also destroy, and although his intention was divine and he didn't threaten settlements, people grew to fear Zipacna. They lost touch with the good deeds Zipacna had done for their ancestry, and the sight of him exhibiting his creative power filled them with dread. In a rare moment of alliance between the four people, they came up with a plan to rid themselves of the great dragon. While Zipacna slept, a reported four hundred magicians, smiths, and rogues, worked together to bind Zipacna with thousands of miles of metal ropes. Zipacna woke after his mouth was already chained closed. Still, he tried to breath fire, a move thought foolish at the time by his attackers, for Zipacna's fire went inwards instead of out. The great dragon exploded in flames. But as suddenly as he exploded and burned his attackers in a flash, the flames turned into stone. Confused but also ecstatic about Zipacna's transformation into a lifeless mountain, they left and celebrated their victory. While they did, boulders of various sizes on the mountain started to rattle. They cracked open like eggs, giving birth to hundreds of dragons. Though some dragons remained in their birth place, more of them found homes in other parts of the world. Because of an assumed evil of dragons by the four people, the dragons of Zipacna must always remain vigilant against enemies, especially with Delthurk right by them - a military base built specifically to destroy Zipacna.

Localized Phenomena

The Zipacna mountains are always morphing, albeit at a slow pace. Like a slow moving series of flames, the rocks and peaks are constantly changing shape. Year to year, it can look like a completely different mountain, though there are some constants, like the inner range remaining higher than the outer. There are hundreds of caves all over the mountains which is where the dragons nest. Even these caves can disappear and new ones appear, but as it is so slow a process, the dragons are easily able to adapt.
