1338 - Magic after the death of The Emperor

The strange presence is felt all across the realm. People have frightening dreams and some claim to hear whispers in the night. Magic users report these claims more than others. There are stories of powerful Wizards and Sorcerers going insane and losing all grasp of reality. This has caused the population to seek refuge in The Pantheon of the Gods. Clerics all across the realm grasp their holy symbols and recite prayers after casting spells. The days of using magic to help the crops grow, or to conjure food and drink and now long gone. This has caused hunger and famine for the common folk. The issue has not yet reached the cities or the major towns, but the villages and hamlets on the outskirts of the empire are in dire need of help.
